Writing as a hobby?

Writing is a full time job. It can't be a hobby or a side business thing. You need to regularly sit and write. Get it down on paper. Overcome the writer's block. Keep writing lot of non sense. Keep editing. Keep refining. And then after lot of hardwork, you may deliver an article worth sending...forget about getting accepted and then getting published. And whether it's worth reading or likable to readers is a all together different game. One who is in a other working profession can't do this much commitment or efforts after doing his own professional work. Seems tough.

Unfortunately, writing as a hobby has limited space. You only write for your own sake. Offcourse that's not a small thing. Some writers do claim that when they were writing for just for the joy of writing, those were the best days of their lives. Writing with deadlines kills lot of creativity. Writing for columns around fixed subject is also a lot of hardwork and less of fun and satisfaction. Professional writers do feel these drawbacks, but the facts that getting wide recognition, readers feedback & getting lot of writing makes them to overlook that.

When one writes as a hobby, it's pure fun. No restriction of subject or language. You just allow the flow of words smoothly on the paper.. straight from the heart or brain or mind.. whatever it may be dominating at that moment. Sometimes it's great to read, while other times it's pathetic also. But most are mediocre type. But that doesn't bother much to the writer inside you. He is just having joyful moments everytime he gets an opportunity to express himself. He doesn't care about the readers... Forget readers...he is not even concerned about whether anyone will read his creation or not. He just dances on the paper with his creativity. May be it's not readable for the world outside, but he has his own world filled with pure joy and happiness. And that's a fair deal to continue writing as a hobby. Isn't it?
